Loes Peijnenburg knew at a young age that she wanted to get everything out of her volleyball career. With her height of 6’0 and her role as a center, she grew into a strong and hard-working player. Loes made the move to senior volleyball early on and played at VCE/PSV until her transfer to America. Her ambition and drive eventually brought her to the United States, where she combines her sport and studies.
Clear goals
After finishing her HAVO, Loes had a clear goal in mind: play at the highest level possible, receive a sports scholarship, combine studies and sports and gain international experience. The step to America was a big dream for her. At the same time, the process also brought uncertainties, such as the amount of scholarships, the financial feasibility and the entry level level of American volleyball.

Volleyball in the United States
During her pathway, Loes came into contact with several universities, including Polk State College. The transition to the American system took some getting used to at first, but now Loes feels right at home. After two transfers, she is now part of Texas Wesleyan’s varsity team and is making lots of playing minutes, including athletic successes. The combination of intensive training, competition and study fits well with her ambitions.
Strong on and off the field
In addition to her athletic development, Loes has also made great strides academically. The American college environment offers her structure, challenge and opportunities for growth. With a sports and athletic scholarship, she can successfully combine her studies and top sport, which makes her American adventure extra valuable.

The Role of Slamstox
Slamstox’s guidance played an important role in Loes ‘ journey. From personal contact and quick communication to advice on scholarships and universities, everything was carefully supervised. In addition, Slamstox took the contact and negotiations with coaches off her hands and supported in the administrative processes. This gave Loes the peace and confidence to focus on her dream.
What struck me most in the process was Loes’ enormous enthusiasm and drive. Going to America was more than an opportunity for her; it was a dream she wanted to fulfill at any cost. That perseverance has brought her to where she is today.
An inspiring example
Loes Peijnenburg shows that with hard work, ambition and the right guidance, a big step to America is possible. She has found a place where she is successful athletically, growing academically and living her dream.
