After his time at Willem II, Rob Stoop faced an important choice: continue at the highest level, or take a new path. Rob decided not to give up on his soccer dreams, but to choose a place where he would find the joy in the game again. A combination of soccer and study was the ideal solution, and so he ended up in the United States, where he could rediscover his passion for the game.
Choices, doubts and confidence in Slamstox
Choosing the right college was not easy. Rob and his mother had many questions about which team would be the best fit for him. Slamstox’s experience and confidence were crucial in this process. Finding a good match with William Penn University, Rob felt right at home, especially with the presence of a Dutch coach who understood him immediately.
From debut to final
What followed was a season to remember. Rob not only impressed with his play, but quickly became one of the leaders of his team. The icing on the cake was the impressive run to the National Championship finals in the NAIA, an accomplishment that made Rob proud. Throughout the season, he played a prominent role, and the bond with his teammates grew. In addition to his athletic achievements, Rob was also the one who introduced his teammates to the Dutch artist “Snollebollekes” – a humorous anecdote that symbolizes the team spirit he adds to the team.
